Pujara was building his score very well. But he stuck in the crease on a very deep delivery of Santner that pitched off around off. Very soon Pujara realized that he had missed the ball. Thus he was bowled by Mitchell Santner and India lost its third wicket at the score of 100. Pujara made 41 (108) [4s-6].

Ajinkya Rahane, left handed batsman, entered to the field. India was struggling at 108. This was the best time when Kohli and Ajinkya Rahne could prove their potential. And till the end of the day, they both had done their work.

Kohli and Ajinkya started to play their game. Ajinkya was playing his natural game but the Indian skipper was really opposite. He was playing little slower than his natural game. A couple of chances were given by Rahane and Kohli but wasn’t accepted by the visiting team. Both teams are playing attritional cricket all the way. Indian team is building its score by a rate of less than three runs per over. They showed army like defence.  First session spent well balanced. The Indian skipper completed his half century on Jeetan Patel’s delivery on 5th delivery of 58th over. The signs his good form were so special in Kolkata. But there was no celebration by Indian skipper. He had set his eyes for a big innings, you would imagine. At this time, India’s score was 156-3 in 60th over.

There was an appeal by James Neesham in 61st over on his 4th delivery when Rahane was on the crease. But umpire gave not out to Rahane and it was an excellent decision by umpire.

Ajinkya Rahane fought with Kiwi bowlers and he received the prize of his hard work. He completed his 10th half century of test cricket in 76th over on first delivery of Jeetan Patel by hitting SIX. He made remember of Virendra Sehwag. It was Viru’s style.

The Indian skipper hit the ball towards the point fielder and rushed for a single on 5th ball of 84th over. But the field threw the ball towards stumps and it was a direct-hit. New Zealand thought that they have got Kohli. But Indian skipper was also looking confident. But there was a decision of Not Out by third umpire as same as Kohli’s thoughts. Before this ball Kiwi skipper had a long decision with Matt Henry. But the Indian skipper made everything useless and he made his 12th century in test cricket. It was his 37th century of International cricket.

Virat Kohlil really enjoyed his century because he and his partner Ajinkya Rahane have put India in very such good position from where they can dominate in the game. At the end of the day, India’s score was 267/3 (90.0 Over).

This day was for both of the batsmen. The current partnership has pulled the match little away from New Zealand. The Kiwi team have competed in first two sessions but the last session was completely for India. The Kiwis will have to put great efforts to come back in the game otherwise Indian squad is going to put huge score on the score board.
