Russia signed gas pipeline deal with Turkey, Warming Relations over Syrian Issues :- Russian signed an agreement with Turkey to construct an undersea gas pipeline. It is a bit surprising because the Kremlin has put allegation on Turkish Army of shutting down their warplane and now they have signed this agreement. It is called pure politics and anything could be happened in it. We can see this agreement with many angles. One of them is that Russia is seeking a common ground on Syrian war. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erodgan had words over gas pipeline deal at an Ottoman-era villa in Istanbul. We could guess that both of the politicians didn’t had words only on gas but they also could be discussed over trade, tourisms, defence and conflict in Syria.
Russia and Turkey signed a strategic agreement on Monday, construction of an undersea Gas pipeline deal, it could make a great change in US-Turkey Relations
The Turkish President Erdogan stated in joint news conference, “Today has been a full day with President Putin and we had long discussion over Turkish-Russia relations.” And he also added, “I have full confidence that normalization of Turkish-Russian relations will be continuing.”
In another conference, Putin said that we had committed for gas project and we will resume of importing agricultural goods, vegetables and fruits from Turkey. The countries also committed to increase the cooperation in space technologies and defense. Russia will continue the build up of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant and both sides are working to accelerate the project.
The Turkish President also apologized for shooting down a Russian war plane at near Turkey and Syria borders. The incident had seriously damaged a lot the ties between two countries. The Kremlin took strong action against Turkish government and imposed economic sanctions.
The Turkish President Erdogan stated that he and his Russian diplomatic partner Mr Putin had words about a long cooperation between two countries and we also want to work with Russian army to get back our areas from the Islamic state. He said that we will make all possible cooperation with Kremlin.
Putin said, “We are very glad that Turkey is recovering and we wish them success.” Russia is continuously backing to Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad by attacking on rebels. But Turkey had backed the rebels and wanted to put down Assad from power.
Now it will be interesting to see in future that these both pastime opponents, what are going to do at Syrian issues.
